I know, it's been a little while since the last post. A lot has been going on around here...as usual. Spring has now sprung right into summer with all of it's many activities! My friend, Karen and I have started a sewing group at church. Karen did the honors of showing us how to make a toothbrush rug. I have become hooked on these! They are so easy and a great way to use up those fabrics that are hanging around way too long. Most importantly, I can work on these while keeping an eye on the roving 15 mo. old!
While it's not heirloom, it's fun and apparently I'm not the only one who likes these things!

Braden's little Easter outfit. I love the little button on pants for baby boys! They are just so adorable! I'm glad the Easter Bunny didn't see them before he filled the baskets. I think he might have tossed the Peeps for these little scrumptious babies!
This is Gabe's little outfit complete with Peter Rabbit!

Well, Easter outfits have been made and worn. Each one looking so sweet you could just eat 'em up, as we Southerners say! Lauren wore a bishop smocked in various shades of yellow with pink/coral buillion rosebuds. The hem was a Madeira scalloped hem. Just above the center point  on the hem is a basket of flowers hanging from a shadow worked ribbon held by two little bluebirds. In the scallops on the sides are two bunnies surrounded by carrots.

Today held a special surprise for me! I opened my email to find that I was the winner of the Sew Beautiful Blog giveaway. I will be the recipient of Beverley Sheldrick's Silk Ribbon Embroidery Projects for Baby, a linen gift bag ready to embroider and several yds. of beautiful silk ribbon! I'm so excited! Many thanks to Sew Beautiful, my favorite and most useful magazine!
